It is implied that he is an angel at one point, and he has a rivalry with an entity known as Jacob. If this is THEE Javob from the book of Genesis, there is a part of that story where Jacob fights with "an angel of the Lord", after which he develops a limp. Kenneth may have been that "angel", explaining his inability to speak his true name, his Christian disposition, his rivalry with "Jacob", and his immortal nature. While it is a stretch, his name Kenneth could be shortened to Ken, a name similar to Cain, another biblical character who is given a mark of protection (the mark of Cain was a mark of protection from being killed for having murdered his brother Abel), which might also explain his immortality. These possible biblical connections could be symbolized by Kenneth's good nature, and his presence at NBC could be seen as a sort of devine presence working his influence through the medium of Television.

I have always loved the movie because of all the little sleepy noises, and I have put Passengers on over and over again to go to sleep. I have often thought of several ways both Jim and Aurora can survive for part two without changing the first movie at all and continue within the same setting, I have a few scenarios that fit perfectly. We know the medical bay can act as a sustain and suspend for hibernation and both Gus and Jim’s pods are down. Although Aurora’s pod is simply missing a clock chip and it is never mentioned if Gus’s clock chip is bad. Of course, that would leave Jim alone and he cannot start the medical bay on his own. So, they make Arthur mobile with all the broken Roomba bots and start Aurora’s hibernation in the med bay, then they move Aurora to her fixed pod. Then Arthur starts Jim’s hibernation in the medical bay. Another solution I have thought of many times is, if they have 88 years to go and one med bay for potential hibernation or one fixed pod and a med bay. How many people could awaken and rotate sleep cycles if one needed to stay awake? With 5000 people, 200 plus being crew members, 88 people would only need to stay awake one year then rotate for everyone to survive. A pass the torch scenario.

This way something else could happen on their journey without changing the ending before they arrive at the planet. Maybe Jim and Aurora plan for a “what if scenario” like, what if something happens and they need people who know more about the ship then they do? Like a ship engineer and a doctor. So, Jim and Aurora find these two people in the ship manifest just in case and are later forced to wake them. Potentially it is the doctor and the engineer that figure out how to fix the pod and transfer people from the med bay to the pods later in part 2. This would keep Jim and Aurora in the storyline and then Arthur could still be mobile, putting the last person to sleep in the med bay. I also dream that the ship comes out of lightspeed for some reason. Like space pirates or a distress signal from a returning passenger ship that would require a doctor and a ship engineer.
At the end of the first movie, we see the people waking up and they all notice all the plants and trees, and a robot is carrying vegetables. While we hear Aurora narrating as she is writing at the end of the story. So, it could simply cut to their current lives at the beginning of part 2 as she is narrating, to continue the second movie. I have often thought there could be a reason they needed all those plants and vegetables at the end. Maybe they needed more food, or the ships’ food went bad when it was damaged. Maybe the 5000 people would have gone the last two months with no food and starved had they not built a massive garden out of the ship’s large open areas. In my mind there are still so many possibilities to keep the original characters and continue many other adventures before they even reach the planet. It is called Passengers, so if the movie continues in a sequel, it should be about them as passengers not as colonists, and, should continue with what happens in the rest of their journey.

I agree. Edgemar appearing in the earlier Rekall ad is one of the clearest signs it’s all a dream. He’s established as a real figure before Quaid goes to Rekall, yet now he’s suddenly part of a high-stakes Cohaagen psy op, willingly recruited at short notice? Why would Cohaagen go to such lengths just to get Quaid to take a pill? Why not just tranquilise him and be done with it? The whole thing makes far more sense as a fabrication inside Quaid’s mind.

It's 2025 and the argument still stands. People are making rape simulation games and there are slurs in game, with justification that it's a shooting game. If killing is ok, why not rest of the shit is honesty just minor. To which I say, FPS games should be played for its strategy and aiming skills, not for deriving pleasure from the death and gore. The storylines shouldnt be based on reality or anything close to simulating past events. More children play games than ever, they shouldn't be learning about history from video games.

There is a lot of great information about the show. Thanks to all involved in making this happen. I found this article by trying to find out how many victims were specifically found in Central Park season 1 to 20. Also curious about how that tracks vs actual victims found in Central Park during those same years.

Still can not get over the fact that they didn't plan the script in the way it should have actually been.
Anyway, Johnny Depp has been contacted to star in the new POTC6, but we still have no official info about it.
I hope it will be the right ending of all since our Captain is now getting older.

See ya.

Let me suggest an alternate dramaturgical genre for this film: it’s a jury-centered courtroom drama, like Twelve Angry Men, or The Runaway Jury, or possibly even a third such film.

It’s built around a series of inconclusive votes with additional information coming to light after each vote. Personal conflicts between the jurors are just as important as the facts of the case — and we don’t really *care* about the case, we just care about the power struggle in the jury room.

The thing that’s on trial, of course, is the Catholic Church. If the cardinals give in to their baser natures and elect the asshole conservative, the church is guilty; if Benitez wins, the church is Innocent.
